Camp notes
Gymnasts turning 8 or 9 in 2026 only.
North Apex Gymnastics Club are holding a Skills Assessment for all children in the club and on the waiting list who are interested in attending our club as a competitive floor and vault gymnast. They will take part in a weekly class on a Wednesday from 5.30pm to 8.30pm (8pm for under 10s). Gymnasts will also have the opportunity to attend a bootcamp session once a month.
This trial will be a 45 minute fully led session with our experienced and qualified gymnastics coaches, focusing on warm up, flexibility, strength, line work, and of course using all pieces of equipment including vault and tumble! The session will be fun and engaging, and will allow your child to try out gymnastics if they are interested in becoming a competitive gymnast.
This will be the only opportunity to trial for the 2026 Competitive F&V Programme.
Our Competitive Programme has 2 stages:
*DEVELOPMENT*
Your child will attend up to 4 competitions per year within Scotland. Gymnasts will be continually assessed throughout the year, and competition team selections will take place approx 2 months prior to each competition. This class will be aimed at gymnasts who will be age 6, 7, 8 or 9 in 2026, and have a keen interest in gymnastics and determination to work hard. Gymnasts will train 2 1/2 hours per week, and follow our home conditioning programme
*SQUAD*
Your child will attend up to 4 competitions per year within Scotland. Gymnasts will be continually assessed throughout the year, and competition team selections will take place approx 2 months prior to each competition. This class will be aimed at gymnasts who will be ages 10+ in 2026, and have the drive and willingness to train more advanced skills and follow our home conditioning programme. Gymnasts should already have a good understanding of gymnastics. Gymnasts will train 3 hours per week.
*SELECTION*
Spaces will be limited, and coaches will assess the gymnast during the 45 minute session on flexibility, strength, stamina, skills, apparatus work, and work ethic.
If selected gymnasts will be put on a temporary trial for 6 weeks. Attendance will be monitored for all our competitive programmes as our these classes require commitment from both the gymnast and parent. Following the temporary trial, the gymnast will be advised whether they will continue within the competitive programme, or if they are more suited to our recreational programme.
If your child is not chosen at this point and not a current member, they will stay on the waiting list until a space becomes available in our recreational pathway. Please ensure you are on our waiting list, as names will not be transferred over. If your child is already in the club, they will move back to the correct recreational class for their age group.
